Services

Tree Surgeon in Leicestershire

The services that we provide always begin with an initial consultation (at no cost to the client) with one of our qualified members of staff. Following this consultation we put forward our recommendations which take into account the clients goals and objectives, the well being of the tree itself and the environment surrounding the tree. These recommendations will then be forwarded in writing accompanied by a copy of our public liability insurance as well as our health and safety policy and safe systems of work if required. All work is carried out to British Standard BS3998;1989 - Recommendations For Tree Work) and to industry best practise.

Tree Removal

Unfortunately some trees may need to be removed due to there poor condition or because they are unsuitable for there location. We do this in the following ways: -

Felling
When there is sufficient room surrounding the tree it is possible to fell the tree in one piece by putting an accurate directional cut at the base of the tree.

Sectional felling
When there isn't sufficient room surrounding the tree to fell it, we will dismantle the tree piece by piece. To carry out this task we may have to install a rigging system within the crown of the tree. This allows us to lower sections of the tree in a controlled fashion preventing damage to any surrounding property. We access the tree by climbing it with a rope and harness or by using a work platform depending on the location and condition of the tree.

Tree Planting

The planting of an appropriate tree in a suitable location can be a massive long term investment to a property in terms of its aesthetic and monetary value. The wrong tree in the wrong place can lead to high maintenance costs and can have a hugely negative effect on a property by the damage it can cause above and below ground. We offer expert advise on the planting of all species and sizes of trees on any scale to meet differing objectives.

Aftercare of young trees

Fifty percent of all trees planted will die within there first year due to a lack of aftercare. We offer an aftercare service where we will regularly monitor the tree and carry out any work needed for its future well being.

Specialist Pruning

A number of reasons may occur which require a tree to be pruned, they can range from problems with light, leaf drop, branches to close to buildings, wires or even other trees. All of these problems can be addressed by the implementation of different pruning techniques:

Crown reduction
An even reduction of the overall size of the tree using a technique called "target pruning" which leaves the tree with a natural balanced appearance. If the tree is being pruned on a regular basis because it is to big for its location, it may be prudent to remove the tree and re-plant with an appropriate species.

Crown cleaning
The pruning out of all dead, damaged and rubbing growth from within the trees crown for the good of the tree and to minimise the amount of debris being shed by the tree.

Crown thinning
The selective thinning of young secondary branches throughout the crown which allows more light to penetrate through the crown and reduces the wind load on the tree. This technique does not effect the trees overall size and shape.

Crown raising
Removal of the lower branches to allow access beneath the tree or to simply create a better view.

Stump Grinding

Removes the stump by grinding it to a depth of 6 - 12 inches below ground level. All the waste can then be incorporated back into the surrounding top soil as a great source of organic matter. Our smallest machine will require an access point with a gap of at least 30 inches.

Access to Consultancy
